Nov 14, 2024 · A couple of things that might help from a vertical pellet smoker owner. Fill that aluminum pan half way with warm or hot water. That will stabilize the temperature much better, especially when you open the door. Get a smoke tube and fill it with 50/50 pellets and wood chips. That will give you much better smoke penetration.

Question about the water pan for a vertical smoker...
Apr 1, 2010 · The main function is to spread the heat out evenly. You will always have hot spots in your fire, so when you have a water pan (or sand pan), those hot spots hit the water pan, and the water evens the temp out, so the heat coming up from the water pan is all the same temp.

Nov 6, 2024 · This requires dismantling the control panel and interior guts on the smoker. If this F#$$%ker didn't weigh 200lbs, I would be presenting it back to Lowes for a whole replacement. I'm going to go through the motions and see if the new probe helps. I can work around his for the interim by setting my cook temp by my inkbird.

May 6, 2016 · I have a 7 rack vertical smoker mounted along side my Santa Maria grill mounted on a trailer. What are the do's and dont's as far as different meats in a vertical. I know I don't want any poultry on top of anything else but are there other hard and fast rules? It seems to me I don't want beef dripping down on pork or pork on beef etc.

Jul 6, 2017 · My only fear of this in a vertical smoker is "heat rises" so with the heat pouring out the top of the walls and with the out stack coming down the back and opens near the bottom of the food chamber does that mean the food at the top of the chamber is getting baked hotter and a lot more smoke than the product at the bottom of the chamber?
