Replace the second bushing and then put the second washer on and then tighten down the nut. Now do the other side. For 65/66's the strut rod is not adjustable. Now get the alignment checked.

Real world '65 strut rod bushings experience please
Dec 2, 2010 · Strut rods do their job to locate the lower control arm. To do this the stock strut rods need to flex at the bushing as the lower control arm goes up and down.. When you use polyurethane bushings they do not allow enough flex. Without the ability to flex they can snap. Hence the picture of the snapped strut rod.

Sep 28, 2015 · Here is one of my 66 strut rods, I installed Moog strut rod bushings. Per the Moog instructions and washers supplied with the kit, it looks like they are installed backwards (cupped the wring way), but that is the design/material that the engineering of the part by Moog requires.
