May 18, 2012 · I recently purchased a Smith & Wesson Model 642 which I plan to use for pocket carry (in a Robert Mika holster) and am undecided on grips. I removed the original equipment rubber boot grips and replaced them with a set of magna diamond grips and a Tyler T-Grip. The more I look at that configuration, though, the less I like it.

They also make "Airweight" versions Model's 442 and 642 both are .38 Special and the only difference is the finish. The 442 is black and the 642 has a stainless steel barrel and cylinder. Both have aluminum alloy frames.

Apr 23, 2011 · With the extended pocket, the trouser material closes over the grip. IMHO, you have the perfect pocket gun (642) now spend some extra cash and set it up right. I also recommend a light brushing around the crane (I use an electric shaver brush) and a dry bore swab or patch through cylinders and bore at least once a week.

I have owned several Taurus revolvers, they were all great and I was able to to trade or sell them (at a profit) to friends who were initially sceptics.

Oct 24, 2021 · -Grip - being able to establish a good, repeatable and sustainable grip helps us put rounds where we want to more repeatably. It also helps in recoil management. Boot grips just don’t do it for me. With heavy loads and a small gun I kind of need the extra leverage of getting my pinky on the grip for best results.-Trigger - Smooth is good.
