Mar 26, 2011 · Reading up, it appears the T5 is a better transmission, in many respects - quieter/shifts nicer, reliable, can be rebuilt by a home mechanic, etc.. I'm in a quandry as to whether to take the easy road and just replace the nv-1500 or spend a few dollars/a little more time & effort and convert to a T5.

Oct 10, 2010 · Wrong. The NV3500 uses a jig, the NV1500, is just bearing installers and hand tools. As long as everything is installed flat and flush, everything will work. I have built many automatics in the past, and they always have to have a jig, to do it properly.

Apr 17, 2020 · I have disassembled a NV1500 from a '98 Isuzu Hombre. This trans will fit behind the 2.2L I4. I have learned a lot from it and what little I could find from online searching. I also have pictures of the disassembly and internals. If anyone wants to know, feel free to ask and I will answer as best I can.
NV1500 transmission rebuild instructions needed with tear down
Mar 17, 2015 · I have already removed my NV1500 transmission out of my 97 S10 and started to tear it down to rebuild. I am stuck and can't get the shifter detent plug, on the side of the trans housing removed. Does anyone have instructions on how to get this out and process for rest of tear down and then the rebulid?

The other day I left work and went to shift from first to second.. it felt like there was nothing there but when I released the clutch the truck acted as if it was stuck in first.

Feb 20, 2006 · ok i've been looking and looking for what type of MANUAL tranny fluid my tranny takes but everyone says something different. its a 99 2.2L NV1500 tanny. anyone know for sure what kinda fluid it takes and how much of it? ive heard syncromesh with 5% friction modifier or mobile 1 5w30 synthetic motor oil.

Sep 5, 2019 · I've had a local trans. shop rebuild my nv1500 abt a year before this: While shifting from 3rd to what I swear was 4th (met no resistance, no gears gind, and acted exactly as though I'd shifted into 4th) right as I released the clutch (35-40 mph btw) the vehicle stops, tires chirp a skid and I pop it in to neutral with my heart lurching out of my chest in fear.
