Mar 10, 2022 · Fwiw a Milwaukee Road Atlantic Hiawatha was offered to the St. Louis Transportation museum but they turned it down. Fortunately the there are multiple preserved 4-8-4s, GE boxcabs, Bipolar E2 and Little Joe E70. Luckily other railroads such as GTW and most notably CB&Q have numerous surviving steam locomotives.

Trains reporters also saw 110 miles per hour achieved twice in the midst of a heavy snowstorm. Meanwhile, crosstown rival C&NW's E4 4-6-4s were known dogs.

Oct 19, 2023 · If it helps clarify things, the Southern Pacific GS-Series is 16ft tall, while the Milwaukee Road A Class were 15.5ft tall. The latter may have taller wheels, but its railroad probably had a smaller loading gauge, and so it is shorter in overall height.
