Oct 28, 2023 · There's a non-invasive urine cytology test. You pee in a jar & they send it to the lab & analyze, looking for abnormalities - cancer. I read there's a newer test NMP22 that's more accurate than urine cytology and also performed on a urine sample: "NMP22 is a sensitive, cost-effective test in patients at risk for bladder cancer."

Jul 22, 2020 · I have had trace amounts of blood in my urine related to my diagnosis of interstitial cystitis. I don’t have back pain with IC, but I do have intense burning pain in my bladder. I also had kidney and bladder infections which caused visible blood in my urine. I had a lot of back pain with the kidney infection.

Aug 2, 2024 · I got 1st ever UTIs in my late 50s & became chronic - suffered 7 yrs. Finally went back to distant IC specialist & he put me on Hiprex. Only 2 UTIs since - started was 2016 - and one of those was because I had urogram CT scan w/contast & the Hiprex needs acidic urine to work (hence the Vitamin C) & the contrast make your urine alkaline.
