FAL build on Imbel Receiver - AK Rifles
Jan 13, 2015 · Looks to be a mostly StG58 (Austrian) kit on an Imbel (Brazilian) gear logo receiver. Imbel receivers are top notch. Steyr kits are also top notch. Furniture is aftermarket, DSA stock and HGs and an ergo grip. DSA railed top cover as well.
Century built FAL: Imbel receiver ID???? - AK Rifles
Dec 22, 2015 · Looking at a local Century built FAL. I've heard that some of these were built on Imbel receivers that weren't marked with the Imbel logo. Does anyone know how to ID this specific receivers?? I've done some searching online (FALfiles mostly) and haven't seen a specific "this is, this isn't". thanks!

Dec 20, 2020 · You have two imported "no date" Type III IMBEL receivers. Both have had lightening cuts applied to them as IMBEL never did this to the imported Type 3s. In the first picture the receiver on the right is what would be called L1A1 Australian cut. This one appears to have been imported by Century Arms International.

Dec 27, 2013 · I got 1 of these kits about 10 years ago when Dan's was the sole importer. $250 got a #'s matching kit from a mint gun. It didn't need to be refinished when attached to the Imbel receiver. Go to FAL Files to look for receivers to use. I'd recommend the Imbel receiver. GARY

Mar 20, 2015 · I think I paid $189.00 for my Imbel receiver "back in the day" - wish I would'a bought 20 of them!!! I have a "Franken FAL," but it consists of premium parts - New Imbel "Gear Logo" receiver and NIW Imbel barrel, NIW German G1 lower & HK stamped top cover, NIW FN/Belgian proofed BCG and Bolt (purchased fr DSA!), and enough 922R parts to be "legit."

Mar 10, 2011 · Re: fn fal questions +1 for Glen Riddle. He did an outstanding you on my FAL Para. I went with an Imbel parts kit and Imbel reciever. I bought mine from Parsi on Gunbroker. I think he bought a shitload before importation was halted. If your looking to do a correct build, go with an Imbel receiver, and have the rifle built by someone who knows FALs.
