Welcome to the High Weald National Landscape
What is the High Weald? A medieval landscape of wooded, rolling hills studded with sandstone outcrops; small, irregular-shaped fields; scattered farmsteads; and ancient routeways. The 1461km2 area covers parts of Kent, Sussex and Surrey at the heart of South East England.

Meandering through one of England’s finest landscapes - the High Weald - the 145 kilometre/95 mile Trail links the area’s ridge-top villages and allows exploration of the features that make the area unique.

Do you work for a primary school in the High Weald? Apply for our schools grant scheme, and receive free outdoor learning equipment. The High Weald Schools Grant Scheme supports primary schools to engage in a variety of outdoor learning activities.
AONB Management Plan - High Weald National Landscape
The High Weald AONB Management Plan is the single most important document for the AONB. The Management Plan is a statutory document which defines the natural beauty of the AONB and sets out a twenty year strategy supported by five-year action and investment priorities for conserving this nationally important landscape.
