Solved: Hollowing / Shell a complex Body - Autodesk Community
Dec 21, 2021 · I've been working on this design for a few months now but I'm quite stuck again. I have seemingly managed to crash fusion in everyway I could think of, and I believe I'm finally on the final stretch, BUT it all kind of relies on my being able to hollow/shell this body so I can build the assemblies and installation locations of those assemblies in it.

Mar 27, 2021 · The Shell command does not go all the way through, that is the way it works, a shell is only open at one end, if you want it all the way through you can do something along the lines of the attached file.

Jul 14, 2018 · If they're coming down to sharp corners I don't think shell will work. Can you export the design as an f3d and attach, these links to download are a time waster. Mark . Edit. Just tried a simple test and selling a part where a fillet goes to a sharp corner along an edge seems to work. The shell will be dependent on the smallest fillet rad though.

When I use the shell command it works, but it only leaves one side of the body open. I want both sides of the body to be open, but if I try deleting the wall from the inside, it deletes other parts as well.

Sep 26, 2018 · It seems to my uneducated eye that this form would have a clear and well-defined shell, but for some reason Fusion 360 isn't able to find it. I thought perhaps the issue related to the sharp flange formed where the detent curves to meet the front wall, but Fusion 360 seems to handle similar test shapes without any problem.

Feb 23, 2017 · When selecting the entity to shell, I used the tree to the left to select the entire body. This way I don't specify a face but rather an entire solid. If you're out in the modeling window you can accomplish the same thing by noticing when your entire part lights up (instead of a singular face).
