Bourne’s new gem of a diamond: Doran Park is dedicated
Doran Park at the Upper Cape Cod Regional Technical School, high along the ridge line above the Cape Cod Canal, is different. It is home to the UCT Rams and the Braves of the Cape Cod Baseball League where the college boys of summer refine their skills to make it to “the bigs.”

In a 2007 Braves pre-game ceremony, the new ballpark was dedicated as "Doran Park" in memory of long-time baseball fan and Sagamore resident, George Doran, Sr., and was touted as "the model for the Cape League’s future."

The field is dedicated to longtime Sagamore Beach resident and avid baseball fan George Doran Sr. Since joining the Cape League in 1988, the Braves have won one championship, in 2009. Some notable alumni to play in Bourne include Pete Alonso, Kevin Youkilis, Mark Mulder, Bill Mueller and Mitch Moreland.
