Aug 21, 2022 · I mentioned I had ceramic coating from the dealership. It is also backed by the dealership for a lifetime warranty. Upon inspection by the auto detailing shop, they informed me that there was zero evidence of ceramic coating done on the car - no wax or sealant, nothing. And they suggest that I talk with the dealership and get a refund from them.

Best coating I’ve used and has lasted 4-5 Years on all my clients cars and they become lifelong customers in my experience. For a consumer coating, I’d say CQuartz UK 3.0 is probably the best coating you can “buy off the shelve. 2 layers will last 3-3.5 years in my experience.

After a Wisconsin winter and 12 months, the ceramic coating is holding up great, the most important thing is to do maintenance washes periodically to refresh the hydrophobic properties. I agree paying thousands of dollars for a ceramic coating is tough to justify, but $200 and an afternoon or evening of my time has been totally worth it IMHO.

Jan 9, 2023 · The presence of the chemical gives the wax/spray/liquid some of the advantages of ceramic coatings, like their extreme hydrophobic properties, chemical resistance, etc - but they don't go on anywhere near as thick as a proper ceramic coating. This means that although they perform impressively well, they tend to last a year at best.

Dec 25, 2020 · I've read a lot of benefits from a professionally applied ceramic coat but those are at least a few hundred bucks. A car wash near me offers as an upgrade and "the works" package is around $40. Just bought a new car for the first time and want to keep it nice.

Jun 1, 2020 · If you have average detailing skills or experience you would be able to put a coating on yourself if your car is new or if you can polish your paint. Cquartz Uk is unbelievable for $50 it’s a beading monster and gloss is top level. It in the medium difficulty range. Gtechniq CSL is very easy to apply as first coating or even Adams spray coating.

Ceramic coating is a permanent paint sealant, and the good quality ones will last 10+ years. And even as they wear, they won't visibly go off like a PPF would. They will do very little for stone chips though - I can confirm that first-hand. The gold standard would be a ceramic coating all over, and a PPF on the front bumper (and maybe bonnet).

Nov 23, 2022 · My dealer has a contract with a shop down the road that does that stuff full time. Cost me (I think) $1000 for one-time ceramic coating, Rain-X coating, scotch guard, and yearly undercoating for 5-10 years (can’t remember exactly how many).
