The Brown Company, known as the Brown Corporation in Canada, [1] was a pulp and papermaking company based in Berlin, New Hampshire, United States. They closed their doors during the 1980s.

By 1917, the Berlin Mills Company, with three paper mills and 4,250,000 acres of timberland, was the largest pulp and paper manufacturer in the world. Gradually the company phased newsprint out for highergrade paper, which required bleaching with chlorine gas.
