Nov 9, 2007 · My transmission made it to a little over 174k. I've owned the car for the last 50k & probably 48k of that she has been modded:8 . My L32 thats listed in my sig brought my torque converter to the end of it's life (inside 1500miles) but Tim King said the internals in the stock trans it's self looked pretty good when he put in my Intense transmission.

Apr 7, 2010 · There is a slight drop in rpm if you try to lightly accelerate and downshift into 3rd or even 2nd. It almost seems to seach for a second or two. I am looking into taking the car into a reputable transmission shop to have it checked out and get anything that is failing replaced.

Oct 2, 2005 · I'm doing a fluid and filter change in a 4T65E-HD, and initially just got four quarts of DexronIII to refill it. That's nowhere near enough. I'm at 5.75 quarts and it's still way low. How much fluid is supposed to be replaced? This is looking like 8 quarts or so! That's fine, considering what came out of there. I should have taken a picture of it.

2 days ago · Turns out that "HV-093" is a heat-treated, hardened chain designed for the 4T65E going into 2005+ Grand Prix GXP. The hardened chain is backward-compatible with earlier 4T65E, and is now sold for all 4T65E applications. The hardened chains are verified by the presence of two blue "master" links, versus one blue link in the old chains.

Jan 13, 2006 · Can anyone tell me if there is a way, visually, without getting into the guts of the tranny, to tell the difference between a 4t65e and a 4t65e-HD? I had a new tranny installed a couple years ago, and now, less than 50k miles later I have had to have a new torque converter installed and have other issues including the tranny not going into lockup.
