Mar 28, 2007 · I do not find the Intel fans all that loud. I recently built several systems and first thing I did was force the stock cooler to 100% and run the machines at 3.2GHz for burn in and testing. These were not quad core or extreme CPUs, perhaps the Intel stock fan on those CPUs is beefier than the "lesser" CPUs.

Jun 21, 2016 · Unless a motherboard manufacturer ignores Intel's "no fly zone" around the CPU socket there shouldn't be anything on the board that interferes with the stock cooler. Another alternative to the stock cooler is the Cryorig C7, it runs cooler and quieter and fits into the same footprint as the stock cooler(I think it is a couple mm thicker though).
