I imagine Austrlia’s wizarding world as a blend of the British wizarding society we know from Harry Potter and Aboriginal influences. I’d like to imagine that Australia was a sort of magical sanctuary for millenia, and that kangaroos, platypuses and other marsupials are actually magical beasts but muggles haven’t managed to figure that ...

Nov 5, 2023 · There is no way colonialism on the Muggle side doesn't have some form of spillover into the wizarding world. The wizarding world isn't completely insulated from events in the Muggle world. Pretty sure major wars in the Muggle world would also probably have killed lots of wizards.

If even for every 10000 muggles there is a single wizard, then china should have like 130000 wizards that were basically completely unrepresented in the events surrounding hogwarts. And same with India.

I've always viewed the wizarding world as a mostly secular place, where magic has all but suplanted religion, even if they still keep many Christian cultural things, simply because they're British and have been in contact with Christianity for a long time. IMO, wizards who are actually religious and practicing would probably be Muggleborns.
