Sep 24, 2022 · From there you can either launch stuff from there, or you can start up Steam VR and then launch stuff from there. I found I preferred to run things inside of Steam VR. I like the interface better, and I think things ran smoother. Your miles may vary. But part of my decision to go to the Reverb G2 was the more streamlined in headset set up.

Aug 31, 2022 · It's worth noting that despite all the newer options available these days, there are still a fair number of VR-centric YouTubers that still cite the Index as their daily-driver for VR (Quest and PSVR centric users excluded of course). But again pros and cons and compromises aplenty. I'm not trying to sell anyone on the Index.

With a good wireless connection and Steam Link and/or Virtual Desktop, the Quest 3 is a very good VR headset. It's better for a beginner because you don't need the lighthouses et all, and you can use it standalone if you want (there are a couple of nice MR games out there).

Well they still don't do it if I launch them directly from steam (still just show a desktop VR window) but if I launch steam VR from the air link library, and launch games from within steam VR, they are fine.

Quest if you're on a budget. But if your willing to spend the extra money the valve index is still an incredible headset. I've used several headsets since I got mine in 2019 (quest, vive, vive pro, and PSVR) and my daily driver is still the index. The reason? It's comfortable. No other headset comes close in terms of overall comfort and feel.

Nov 17, 2023 · the ideal solution for a PC standalone VR headset would be some form of hybrid abomination that has a x64 CPU so you can launch/run your usual Steam/PC titles but offloads all the graphical work to an ARM setup kinda like most current standalone VR headsets do only the ARM chips wouldnt need to do the CPU side of things.

Despite having VR titles on Steam, I've been struggling all morning to connect my VR headset to the SteamVR app. I didn't purchase the Link cable, assuming the charging cable would suffice, but it's not working.
