What do I enter for locality name when the box on the w-2 is
Jun 3, 2019 · W-2 for this and past have always had box 16 blank Name of locality. This has never prevented me from filing before. please advise. also was told that they would email me when they have an update on the forms that need to be completed. Please explain

Apr 22, 2021 · Yes, you may select New York as the associated state and then from the dropdown box for the Locality name, select New York City. Report all wages and taxes in boxes 18 and 19. When done this way, the NYC taxes withheld on your W-2 should be applied to your New York income tax return. @lindabdb

Jun 6, 2019 · If you do have an amount greater than $0 in box 17 and the locality is not named, you need to contact the issuer of your W-2G to get the name of the locality. To go back and fix this: Select Federal on the left side menu. Select Wages & Income. Scroll down to Less Common Income, expand the section and select Gambling Winnings.
