Even fire fighter shut off the gas at the street stop box valves. they won't approach a burning house to shut the gas off at the meter unless they can't locate the stop box.

Disconnect the gas line from the stove and supply pipe. When reassembling the connection place a shut off valve on the end gas supply pipe (code is within site and reach)

It’s like the gas valve stays shut. There is an on/off toggle switch on the back of the stove. Underneath the stove is a gas dial that has “off/pilot/on”.
