Dec 4, 2019 · If you own a flip over and are like me, the front bar on my Nanook sits about 4" above the ice no matter what i did to the fabric on the tub. So i decided to design and make my own set of wind poles to stretch the fabric down so the poles actually sits on the ice. Was actually pretty easy and poles came out great.

Folding Smitty Sled for a flip-over ice shelter
If you do an internet search, you'll find pictures and descriptions of zillions of Smitty Sleds. But most Smitty Sleds don't work with flip-over ice shelters, because they hold the ice shelter up in the air. Here are pictures of a Smitty Sled I made for my flip-over ice shelter which has legs that fold down to lower the shelter down to the ice.

Jan 16, 2014 · I'm new to ice fishing and looking to get a shelter. I really like the idea of a flip over, and was looking at the Eskimo Quickflip, the Frabill Recon DLX, and the Shappell Fx100. I'm leaning toward the Shappell, as it has the most heavy duty material, but does anyone have experience with them and can recommend one over the other? Thanks, Allison

Nov 23, 2014 · Hey guys I've been looking for a flip over shelter and just wanted to hear your thoughts. I have been looking at the frabill commando, shappell fx100, and the clam scout and kenai. I'm not a big guy and I'll be dragging my gear on the ice, there isn't a lot of places that allow atv's on lakes where I'm from.

Feb 8, 2020 · BEST, Clam 2 man flip over with little buddy heater and a set of Jack Trap Cross jack tip ups. Worst, That little blue hand held auger blade sharpener. Used it once and had to send the blades out to get them sharpened.

Feb 18, 2010 · The only problem I am having is how would I get it on the ice. I have an Eskimo QuickFlip 2 right now and a Mora 6". I always carry the auger out on the ice by hand because I don't want to put it behind the seats laying on the fabric because i am afraid of tearing the fabric.

I would like to heat it up a little bit so that I can take the wife and kids out with this year. What is everyone using and do you mainly have the heat source in front of you or behind you?

Jan 16, 2023 · I have the stealth version..got it used this year for a great price..it's pretty good..negatives for me are it's pretty tight (obviously lol) but it is really small if you're a bigger guy and ceiling is low so hook sets take a little getting used to..it also pulls like crap..I have a snowmobile and it plows and pulls so heavy..snow bounces …
