Jan 6, 2015 · You do not want a curved screen with 16:9 aspect ratio. Curved screens are designed to be used with scope screens and an anamorphic lens. The curve of the screen helps eliminate the pincushion caused by the anamorphic lens. The shorter the throw, the more pincushion. If you would like to discuss this more in depth, give us a call.

Can a curved screen be flattened? - AVS Forum
Feb 18, 2022 · I have a 120' dia curved screen with a long throw projector. I am considering a UST and wondered if the curved screen can be flattened to use with the UST. The current screen snaps onto a frame (IIRC). If this is something that will work, I can have a flat frame built and just remount it. Thoughts? Thanks.

Mar 18, 2008 · I love the curved screen, but like Craig and Mike said, it doesn't make sense unless you're using an anamorphic lens and a 2.35:1 screen. The curve accounts for pincushion distortion but has helped noticeably with contrast.
