Nov 10, 2015 · Had surgery on May 17th to repair a split peroneus brevis tendon in left ankle. Surgeon said he had to form the 2 tendons together to make a strong one because it was so smashed and torn. Injury was caused by a back surgery that caused nerve damage and made my foot go all wobbly.

May 15, 2017 · Foot and ankle orthopedic surgeon is the only person you should see for ankle ligament and tendon stuff. Podiatrists are too conservative in my experience with treatment and other doctors don’t know enough - hand and wrist and foot and ankle are extremely complex, way more so than kneees And shoulders.

Oct 26, 2017 · 2 years ago I had a surgery to repair my torn tendon. They also cut my heal bone off and moved it over and lengthened my heel cord. I tore my tendon and it could not repair itself BC I had no arch so this was supposed to create one. It failed and now 7 months post ankle fusion 2 years later. Non weight bearing 8 weeks both times.

This was a much more complex surgery, which involved the harvesting of another tendon and grafting it to my Achilles. After the surgery was finished, the new surgeon told my husband, "it was a real mess in there". The hardware which the first guy had used was just hanging off the tendon, and my Achilles was detached from the bone as well.

Jul 21, 2016 · Hi everyone, Ruptured my achilles 8 weeks ago, had surgery followed by 2 weeks in plaster and then 6 weeks in a walker boot. Removed 1 heel lift every two weeks and just now been cleared to remove the boot and can carefully begin to walk in a shoe again.

Jan 20, 2016 · Was reading your recommendation not to remove the bandages. I see my doctor in 3 more days. I’m having a ton of swelling & I feel like my pain hasn’t gotten much better. I had my brevis tendon groove deepened, & a bone under it shaved down. Also a tendon repair in front of my ankle & laparoscopic ankle debridment.

I just had my surgery on 4/7. Both Peroneals repaired, ligaments and ankle stability. I pushed mine back about 6 months but did more damage to my ankle. Like you, I was worried about work and finances. The pain would be on and off. When it was on, I wished I had already done the surgery. When there was none, I second guessed myself.

I was in splint for 10 days and a hard cast for about 10 days with strict non weight bearing. Then I started with the walking boot and crutches but ditched the crutches within a few days.
