A couple of weeks ago, I posted if it was possible to install 17 inch Rims in a MK7 with performance package brakes. Well, it is possible. Rims are Konig Hypergram 17x8 5x112 with Toyo Proxes 235/45/ZR17 tires.

Mar 3, 2016 · Ive got a set of BBS wheels with some 235 45 17 all seasons I'm trying to get rid of. They are in pretty good shape (minor curb rash NO BENDS). The tires are in decent shape nothing special.

ET45 is recommended for an 8.5" wheel. This is an 8" wheel, 12.7mm difference. It would sit in further than a 18x8.5 ET45. It's fine. My "put parts on my car" thread.

Nov 25, 2019 · My 2017 SE has the big brake calipers (the red ones) and 18" wheels. I run 17" OEM VW Classics for my winter wheel on the GLI which has R/PP brakes. 2019 GLI 35th Anniversary. You won't find many that work without wheel spacers. I have the Motegi 17" MR131 and I had to use 10MM spacers.

Oct 16, 2024 · Looks like 18" rims are recommended for winter tires on my 2023 GTI 40th Anniversary edition. I have a set of winters on 17" rims from my previous 2023 Jetta GLI. I installed one wheel on the front as a test and the 17" fits with some clearance, but not a whole lot, by the caliper- as pictured.

Oct 22, 2023 · First choice is to go to 17" wheels with 225/45x17 tires. Alternatively, I am wondering if anyone has tried changing the tires to 235/45x18 to increase the sidewall. Any advice?

Dec 3, 2022 · My 17 inch wheels with tires are 9 pounds less, each, than stock 19 inch wheels and tires that my GTI came with. So it accelerates better, turns better and brakes better since there is less rotating mass.

Sep 26, 2022 · 17s are lighter and handle better. Some will likely not fit your brakes if you have performance pack ones. Best to check clearance before buying.

Nov 1, 2010 · The tires are 235/45r17 with a 7.5" rim and 35mm offset. No drop, stock suspension all around, Any ideas if I'm going to have rubbing problems? I didn't see this combination in the chart. Any help would be really appreciated, Adam
