Jul 10, 2011 · I've owned quite a few Gibson guitars, but never a Gibson bass. Can't really comment thoroughly on the Epi vs. Gibby angle. I've owned several Fender guitars and basses. I've owned Squiers that were better than some of the Fenders I've owned. I get the general feeling that Squier QC is more consistent. But I really do like my Epi bass.

Now before the VM and CV basses were introduced, the top of the Squier line was the Standard series, which always said Standard on the head stock. The VM and CV basses do not say anything other that Squier Precision Bass or Squier Jazz bass on the headstock.

Mar 31, 2013 · I've owned several different Squier guitars and basses going back to 1982. As far as what is available on the market currently, I think the CV and (IMO, to a slightly lesser extent) the VM lines of Squiers are just very good basses, period. Particularly the Classic Vibe series.

I currently own V940fl fretless and its fantastic its one of the most comfortable fretless basses Ive played. May 9, 2017 · i think you should play some new squier guitars yourself rather than believing what you hear online the thing is, when squier guitars first came out years ago, they were - i thought at the time - a little crappy. a lot of time and planning by fender has changed that except maybe for the very entry level guitars, although i haven't played one.

May 23, 2021 · All I know from current Squier CVs is a 70s Jazz bass that belongs to a friend, it's a fairly thin neck, with rolled edges and binding. The 50s single coil P bass also has a thin neck. In general Squier guitars are never period-correct but do check them out in person as what's thin to me might be just right for you
