May 17, 2001 · A 12 bolt is required on a SS in 67 and 68. It was never optional and there was no RPO for it. There have been rumored exceptions, but none have documentation. Yes, a SS is either a 350 or a 396. The TH350 was introduced in 69. It was not available in 67. It was either a glide (350) or a 400 (396). The 4P should be there to be a SS.

If you can't get a picture you can always copy all of the numbers and letters on the cowl tag (drivers side of the firewall) into the post. Here is a link to a picture on the 67 dealer brochure that shows the only available stripes in 1967 (so that you know what we are talking about).

You can extrapolate a % from the total build of '67 Camaros convertibles, how many total Camaros were equipped with SS and how many were equipped with RS to come up a guesstimate # of SS/RS converts (I'm sure some one here has done the math ).
