I think that it makes sense that the best weapons in the game are listed taking into account both an optimal build for maximum damage and a general idea of ease-of-use and ease-of-acquiring.

Nov 21, 2021 · If you're doing energy weapons, pick up a recharger weapon from some of the Bright Followers in and around Goodsprings, like in the Goodsprings cave or under the railway bridge heading towards Sloan. In addition, Chet in the Goodsprings general store is guaranteed to always sell a plasma pistol, which will carry you at least to Novac.

Jul 22, 2012 · In the base game, the Q-35 Matter Modulator is one of the best plasma weapons, but the plasma caster and plasma defender are both great if you can find them. As for rifles, the Brush Gun is great and looks really cool, the Anti-Material Rifle is super-damaging, and you really can't go wrong with a silenced Sniper Rifle.

Generally they tend to have less reach but on the flip side unarmed weapons have unique perks that make them very powerful, especially scribe counter.
