The Portland Pickles are bringing a new pre-professional soccer team to Portland this spring. The Pickles, a collegiate wood-bat baseball team, said the soccer team would play in USL League Two, a league that already has eight other teams dotted across the Northwest and more than 100 teams nationwide.

The new team will be part of USL League Two, a “pre-professional” soccer league in the U.S. and Canada. Like the Pickles, it’s for college players to train and compete in the summer while maintaining their collegiate eligibility.
