Firefighters worked to knock down a fire that hit a reportedly vacant building south of downtown Salt Lake City, which sent up a plume of smoke visible to much of the city.

Construction on the new additions to the park is planned to begin in Fall 2025. The Parks and Public Lands Department said this timeline allows the Farmer’s Market to continue during the hottest summer months and construction to occur during the park’s “off-season.”
