The SEC announced Sunday that Vanderbilt has been fined $250,000 for the court storming at Memorial Gymnasium on Saturday.

Vanderbilt was fined $250,000 by the Southeastern Conference on Sunday for allowing fans to storm the court Saturday in celebration of a 75-75 basketball victory over No. 6 Tennessee. Vanderbilt was penalized for a second offense under the conference’s revised access to competition area policy.

The Vanderbilt University men's basketball team defeated the No. 6 University of Tennessee by just a single point Saturday, but as a result of the fans' excitement about the victory, the Southeastern Conference (SEC) announced Vandy will have to pay a hefty fine for the second time in less than four months.
