Life Alive, the Ron Shaich-backed organic cafe, is close to opening its first local outpost. A D.C.-based James Beard top chef has helped it come up with a special dish to market the occasion.

There’s also a Princes Street location due to open on February 6, and another coming to Glasgow’s Gordon Street. They chose Scotland simply because we asked for it.
