After a terrible first period, the Flyers pulled off a comeback against the defending champs for their first consecutive wins in a month.

NEW YORK -- Igor Shesterkin made 33 saves, and the New York Rangers scored six straight goals to extend their season-long point streak to 10 games with a 6-1 win against the Philadelphia Flyers at Madison Square Garden on Thursday.

Ryan Poehling went down with an injury in the first period, but the Flyers rallied as five different players scored a goal in the win.

Owen Tippett scored the opening goal of the game for the Flyers. With the loss, the Orange and Black’s three-game winning streak also comes to an end.

Sean Couturier, Garnet Hathaway and Morgan Frost scored in the second period Thursday night for the Philadelphia Flyers, who beat the New York Islanders 5-3 in Elmont, N.Y.
