Michael Vick is going to be the next head coach at Norfolk State University, according to a report from David Teel – widely considered the dean of sportswriters in the Commonwealth of Virginia. Vick later accepted via statement.

Vick, 44, lacks major coaching experience but told The Virginian-Pilot, “I know how to lead and I know what it takes.”

Since retiring from the NFL, Vick has never officially held any coaching position. In April 2018, he announced that he would be the offensive coordinator for the Atlanta Legends in the Alliance of American Football (AAF), a new professional league.
