A s a norovirus bug creeps its way through the New Jersey Devils’ locker room, the team has found themselves in a freefall.

The players walked out to the Flower of Scotland tune and there was a chorus of applause as Sir Alex Ferguson laid a wreath on the half-way line. A poem was read out in his honour.
