The mishap resulted in one of the healthiest herds in Colorado as efforts continue to bring the state mammal back from near extinction.

News5 had the chance to tag along with CPW Terrestrial Biologist Ty Woodward to get a behind-the-scenes look at the Rampart herd west of Colorado Springs.
