Aiken County has a new sheriff. Marty Sawyer was surrounded by family, friends, and local leaders at his swearing-in ceremony Tuesday. He spent the past month preparing for the transition, finalizing his command staff with seasoned staff promoted from within.

Marty Sawyer is Aiken County's new sheriff after being sworn in Jan. 7 at the Aiken County Judicial Center, taking over from longtime sheriff Micheal Hunt.

BAMBERG, S.C. (WRDW/WAGT) - In Bamberg County, Sheriff Kenneth Bamberg took the Oath of Office on Tuesday. The ceremony also celebrated the promotion of several officers at the Bamberg County Sheriff’s Office.

In a social media post, the Office said Sheriff Blankenship holds “a strong vision for safety, transparency, training, and community engagement,”
