The tree – a 24-foot Douglas Fir from Crystal Spring Tree Farm in Carbon County – was brought into the capitol two weeks ago. Crews from the Pennsylvania Department of General Services decorated the conifer with 1,250 lights and over 700 ornaments made by pre-kindergarten students.

During Christmas, families around the world decorate their homes with lights, ornaments, and, of course, the beloved Christmas tree. For most people, a Christmas tree means a fresh or artificial evergreen decorated with shiny balls and twinkling lights.
