Todd Bowles could not seem to keep up with Jayden Daniels on Sunday in more ways than one. Bowles' Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Daniels' Washington Commanders were tied at 10 midway through their Wild Card round matchup at Raymond James Stadium.

The first came at the end of the first half when Bowles let over 10 seconds run off the clock after the Buccaneers reached the red zone. With just 17 seconds, the Buccaneers essentially had to be perfect execution-wise. Fortunately, for Tampa Bay, it ended up scoring a touchdown to knot proceedings up at 10-10 at the break.
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers had an up-and-down season but won six out of their last seven games to win their fourth consecutive NFC South title after the Atlanta Falcons lost their grip in the second half of the season.
The Buccaneers have also won the NFC South every year that Todd Bowles has led. Even Bruce Arians, who won a Super Bowl with Tom Brady in his first year away from the New England Patriots, only won the NFC South once.
Bowles’ choices didn’t ultimately doom the Buccaneers since they scored a touchdown on that final first half sequence and Washington could have bled the clock dry on the final drive regardless of timeouts, but Bowles did not put his team in the best position to succeed by letting clock run.
Jayden Daniels was terrific for the Commanders, defeating the Buccaneers on the road in his first playoff game.
