Richard Young’s chance to impress may have officially arrived for Alabama football.

The pair was Jam Miller, a former Texas four-star who served as the No. 3 running back in 2023 behind Jase McClellan and Roydell Williams; and Justice Haynes, the highly-recruited 2023 five-star out of Buford, Georgia.

On Friday, Dec. 13, Alabama running back Justice Haynes, coming out of his second season, entered the transfer portal, to the horror of fans in Tuscaloosa. And, according to On3’s Pete Nakos, Michigan football and Ohio State are the two schools competing for his services.

According to On3's portal rankings, Haynes is the top player available at his position in the current transfer market, coming in at No. 19 overall. He has suited up with Alabama for two seasons, and the 2024 campaign saw him register 448 yards on 79 carries (5.7 yards per attempt) and seven touchdowns.

Former Alabama offensive lineman, Alphonse Taylor showed understanding for Justice Haynes after he decided to enter the transfer portal.  Haynes was one of the more shocking Alabama entries into the portal.
