Minecraft creator Notch has revealed he wants to make a spiritual successor, after asking what game he should make next in a Twitter poll.

In 2009 he began developing a block-based mining game, originally called Cave Game. He worked on the game for two years and on 18 November 2011 the full version of Minecraft was officially released.

In several posts on X, Markus "Notch" Persson has announced the development of a game. He himself doubts whether it will ever be finished.
