Amid break-up with Malaika Arora, Arjun Kapoor has recently said how he got less work from Karan Johar due to Varun Dhawan. In an interview with Galata India, Kapoor said, "Varun basically made a fool of me.

Arjun Kapoor and Varun Dhawan have been close friends for years. The duo attended acting school together. However, Arjun believes Varun might have played a role in why Karan Johar hasn’t cast him in many Dharma Productions projects.

Arjun said that Varun convinced him to act in the short film, promising him the lead role. But ultimately gave himself the hero's part and made Arjun the villain without his knowledge.
