Kickoff of the 125th Army-Navy Game was still two hours away. But the electricity was unlike anything I’ve seen before. Ultimately, Army-Navy is a football game and a good one at that. The Midshipmen entered Saturday’s game with an 8-3 record and with a pair of wins in their final two games of the season — against Army and over Oklahoma in the Armed Forces Bowl — they can clinch just their sixth double-digit win season in school history.

The voice of Navy sports will miss his first Army-Navy Game in 27 years, plus more surrounding the 125th edition of “America’s Game.”

Navy quarterback Blake Horvath ran for 204 yards, passed for 107 and accounted for four touchdowns as the Midshipmen rolled over their archrival.

Four plays later, Navy punched it in for a touchdown, basically sealing the 31-13 victory in the 125th edition of the classic rivalry, ending Army’s two-year streak and claiming the Commander-in-Chief’s trophy for the first time since 2019.

Throughout Saturday’s 125th Army-Navy game, Landon Robinson led the way for Navy’s defense. But on one play early in the fourth quarter, the 6-foot, 285-pound nose guard seized a moment of special teams glory that will live on in Naval Academy football history.

The Navy Midshipmen went all-out for a win in their annual rivalry game with Army on Saturday, and that included dialing up a fake punt that most teams probably do not even have in their playbook.

He also gained 24 yards and picked up a first down on a fake punt called in Navy's 59–14 loss to the SMU Mustangs last season.
