Celebrity Cruises will be adding a sixth vessel to its outstanding Edge class with the new ship due for delivery in 2028.

The Edge-class party won’t be done with the debut of Celebrity Xcel later this year as a sixth ship in the popular class was just ordered by Celebrity Cruises’ parent company Royal Caribbean Group. The agreement contingent on financing was announced Tuesday with French shipyard Chantiers de l’Atlantique,

Many people thought that Royal Caribbean would end the Oasis-class with Utopia of the Seas, but the cruise company has ordered another ship in the popular class. The same was thought about the upcoming Celebrity Xcel being the final member of the cruise line's Edge class.
