The infamous box jellyfish developed its frighteningly powerful venom to instantly stun or kill prey, like fish and shrimp, so their struggle to escape wouldn’t damage its delicate tentacles.
A box jellyfish advisory has been issued for Waikiki and Ala Moana beaches, in whose waters the stinging invertebrates have been spotted, the City and County of Honolulu announced this morning.
