KUALA LUMPUR - Malaysia's appeals court granted on Monday a bid by jailed former Prime Minister Najib Razak to obtain a document that he said would allow him to serve the remainder of his prison sentence at home.

Former Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Razak stepped up efforts to serve the rest of his prison sentence for corruption at home, submitting to a court in Putrajaya what he says is a copy of a royal decree permitting him to do so.

In a split decision, the Court of Appeal on Monday has ordered the High Court to hear the merits of former Malaysian prime minister Najib Razak’s judicial review.
