The Packers will be getting some new neighbors after the green light was given Tuesday for development proposals across the street from 1265 Lombardi Avenue.

Some residents fear the character of their neighborhood will be ruined, but the City Council unanimously approved the developments.

The parcel, currently zoned general industrial, may be divided into sections to maximize funding and provide options for multiple users.

The Green Bay City Council on Tuesday will consider whether to approve planned unit developments on two projects on the property — bounded by South Ridge Road, Thorndale Street, Frank Street and Lombardi Avenue — after the city Plan Commission gave its OK on Jan. 13.
