A winter storm warning is in effect for accumulating snow, ice and some bitter cold temperatures Sunday, Monday and beyond.

A severe winter storm expected to hit Sunday may remind some of frigid events of the past. Here's a look at the biggest system to hit the city.

According to the NWS, a wintry mix of snow, sleet and freezing rain will move through the Louisville area from early Sunday morning through Monday afternoon. Southern Indiana is expected to see 6-10 inches of snow, and ice accumulations between 0.2 and 0.5 inches.
