Excellent trail on the way to Angels Landing. Great views of the valley. Nice, wide trail for hiking. A long, steep hike that will take a couple hours. The views are worth it. Full review by joaniemaria

My husband and I are planning to do the west rim trail hike end of June. We are planning to do this as an overnight hike, hopefully scoring one of the walk in campsites halfway through the trek. We were wondering what the nighttime climate was like in June? We are really wanting to cut down on our pack weight by forgoing our sleeping bags. Instead, we would just have our sleeping pads and our liners. Would this be a reasonable plan?

Totally possible. Just look at the weather forecast. You are still reasonalbly high in elevation but it won't be cold. It has been a number of years since doing this hike but having grown up here it is one I did many times as a youth and can never remember waking to it being cold....weather permitting of course.
