The advantage of buying tickets ahead is a bit of savings, and the option of bundling the bus tour tickets with entrance to certain attractions for more savings. During the summer months I believe there is air conditioning downstairs, not needed upstairs as the buses are open. Upstairs is the best way to see Vienna!
