A beautiful and somber place that should be on everyone's to do list. Placards have good information and it's a free location where you can go at your own pace. Full review by tasha313

I'd visited Auschwitz previously so didn't go on the tour with the group I travelled with this time, but found this apparently peaceful park to be similarly chilling. There are monuments around one o… Full review by SolihullRichard

Hello, Can you please tell me how to find the graveyard with the only standing gravestone please? I have been researching online and I am struggling to find it. Even on Google Maps. We will be starting from the Grey House and then going to the Hujowa-Gorka and then to the camp area and finishing in The Broken Hearts memorial area. Is it somewhere around these areas please? What should I look out for as a sign to know that I am there, for example, people have mentioned Shell and McDonalds so I know that when I see those, I can walk up a path to the Grey House and so on. Thank you very much for your help. Thank you very much.

In response to above answers. They are correct the grave stone/ memorial is directly behind the grey house. I do have a photograph someone will see if I can find it. The other stones were removed and used as paving stones by the Nazis during the camps lifetime. These are all missing now but according to some reports there are still some at far reaches of camp boundaries which have now been reclaimed by nature. We didn't see any evidence of these. The site itself is VERY SECLUDED so exercise caution if walking alone, although I did see my some "locals" walking dogs off on the path (its effectively a loop trail) but is certainly not signposted only the two signs either end noting you entering the former site.

Hi, I think if you do some homework on Google Earth or similar, you would be able to do it yourself. Everything is within walking distance once your there and you can get a tram that drops you a few metres from the site. The " park " as you call it is big but you can do it yourself and that makes it all the more interesting.

Hi I am planning on visiting Plaszow in the summer with my teenage children as we are filming a documentary about my father's time in 8 camps throughout the Holocaust. Plaszow was his worst camp and he was shot at by the commandant (the bullet ripped his shirt collar but he survived). Is it worth going there to film. Are there enough buildings and are they in tact? Are there people who can guide us around? Kind Regards Ilana

Hi Llana Its worth visiting and filming, there is an atmosphere to the place that can only be appreciated by visiting. The commandants house still exists, but its in poor condition although it looks like someone lives there, you can't really see the rear with the balcony where he used to shoot in mates from very well as I think they have purposely let it become over grown, however you can get a reasonable view of it from the edge of the quarry with a zoom lense camera! The grey house still exists too. Other than that there are a few derelict buildings around the edges of the camp but I'm not sure if they formed part of it. There are a number of monuments and you can still see area's where it looks like the pits were dug that they buried bodies in. I'm not sure if you can send private messages on Tripadvisor but if you can, send me an email address and I will share some photo's that I took last year so that you can see what you can expect, this might help make your decision. It might be worth checking my photo's on Tripadvisor as i may have already uploaded them to the website. If you do visit make sure you wear sensible footwear as the ground is quite uneven and its over grown in parts. I'd print off some of the info shared in reviews on Tripadvisor as it will help you to locate the area's of interest and if you need any further help I'd be happy to help. I'm so glad that your dad lived to tell the tale especially as I have seen some horrific things from visits to Auschwitz and Plaszow but even now none of us can really understand how bad it was and to have survived that takes a very strong person and I think filming a documentary of the camps he survived is a good way to document it so that its never forgotten. I hope this helps. Kind Regards Lesley
