Edinburgh itself is a gloriously beautiful city in the castle is the crowning achievement. I got a hotel where my room had a view, looking up at the castle and it was simply amazing. Full review by Stephen D

It was very interesting to learn about the history of this castle and be able to see the oldest Crown Jewels in the uk! A must visit for Edinburgh. Full review by Lauren35896

Really enjoyed visiting the castle. Lots to do and see. I would recommend going over lunch time so you can see the guard shoot the cannon at 1pm everyday apart from Sundays. The museums are brilliant… Full review by Lauren H

Xiaomeng: You may have used a site not approved by the Castle's website. If the day you visit is rainy and you have booked admission, you will not want to visit an attraction that is mostly outdoors. I suggest that you ask someone at the hotel at which you stay to assist buying a ticket in advance. If the day has rain, plan to visit the fabulous National Museum. There is no charge, and you can enjoy a full day indoors learning about Scottish history.
