I would say an hour is good. But they do have some interesting activities for small children that we didn’t do, so that could add more time.

The museum is handicap accessible. The entire museum is on one floor, so an elevator is not needed to reach all the exhibits and the gift shop. If I remember correctly, there are a couple of benches in case you need a place to rest briefly.
